As a graduate student of peace processes and post-conflict reconstruction in Latin America I have found this book to be an excellent resource on Colombia and that nation’s prospects for peace. Rather than an assemblage of scholarly essays bundled under one theme, the editor seems to have commissioned 20+ chapters by recognized experts to form a thorough, balanced volume. It has been useful in several of my classes this semester as I work to understand the context and trajectory of the conflict–at the state level as well as the popular level.
I am sorry that Amazon’s first version of this page apparently contained a typo that irked some readers. If you can manage to move past that random glitch, you will find a well of solid info & analysis on Colombia.
